Karla Threadgill Byrd was born and raised in Philadelphia, but moved to Western Pennsylvania for college and has been there ever since. It was there she raised her family, taught school, and served her community in a variety of ways. Now in her memoir, Karla celebrates her life in the Lord by sharing the lessons she has learned and the joys and sorrows of a life dedicated to serving her family and community. She  has been an elementary school teacher, college administrator, nonprofit executive director, mother, wife, church member, and public servant throughout her professional career. Today she is back in the classroom as a teacher's aide and enjoys being with  young children once again.
